ATP Tennis Podcast: Turin Hopefuls Seek Boost In Shanghai

This week on the ATP Tennis Podcast...

ATP CHAIRMAN ANDREA GAUDENZI ON TENNIS IN CHINA – “China is a very big market and tennis is a global sport. Our presence here in China is really important for us because we want tennis to become a popular sport in the entire world. Having a premium event of this size is really important to try to get more kids to play tennis and more fans to engage.”

BEN SHELTON ON HIS RAPID DEVELOPMENT – “When you’re in the moment, you’re not really focusing on it as much and right now I’m just focusing on improving, so I’m not really giving myself time to think about where I was.”

HOLGER RUNE ON HIS DIP IN FORM – “Firstly my mind is to get back to my level and from there start improving again. It would be great to say that after a good, and then not a good year, to at least say that I finished in Turin.”

JANNIK SINNER ON HIS PLAN FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON – “We try to take this last part of the season as trying to improve. Trying a couple of new things on court and making a couple of things happen already for next year, so that next year can start in a good way.”

TAYLOR FRITZ ON THE RACE TO TURIN – “I have points to defend, but I’m not paying attention to the points because obviously the goal is to be in the top eight. Honestly what it’s going to take is some big results.”

CASPER RUUD ON LEARNING FROM DEFEAT TO CARLOS ALCARAZ – “Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I know next time I play him I’ll know all the answers to his game. But next time I play him I’ll try to beat him. He’s one of the few guys where you really feel kind of different out there on court.”
