Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski will have to overcome a difficult path if they are to win their first Grand Slam title together at Roland Garros.
The sixth seeds, who are the top team in the Pepperstone ATP Doubles Team Rankings, could face fourth seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in the quarter-finals, with top seeds Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury potential semi-final opponents.
The Dutch-British pair has won a tour-leading four titles in 2022 and will open against Dutch duo Tallon Griekspoor and Botic van de Zandschulp.
Ram and Salisbury have won six tour-level crowns as a team, including two ATP Masters 1000 titles and two Grand Slams. The British-American duo will begin against Marcos Giron and Soonwoo Kwon, while Granollers and Zeballos face French wild cards Ugo Humbert and Constant Lestienne in the first round.In the bottom half, second seeds Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic arrive off the back of winning in Lyon and play Andre Goransson and Ben McLachlan in their opening match.
The Croatians are seeded to meet reigning champions Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in the semi-finals. The Frenchmen captured their second Roland Garros crown 12 months ago and will start their title defence against Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen.
Fifth seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah have reached the semi-finals in Paris four times. They will begin their title quest against Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Benoit Paire.
Australian Open doubles champion Thanasi Kokkinakis teams with Alexander Bublik, while Jo-Wilfried Tsonga joins forces with Richard Gasquet in what will be Tsonga’s final event.
