Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut reached their second Rolex Paris Masters final as a team on Saturday, defeating fifth seeds Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies 7-6(1), 6-0.
The seventh seeds won 80 per cent of service points (40/50) and saved both break points they faced to beat the Roland Garros champions after 74 minutes. Following an evenly-contested opening 12 games, Herbert and Mahut dominated the fifth seeds to advance to their second final of the year. At the Australian Open in January, the Frenchmen became the eighth team in tennis history to complete the career Grand Slam with their first title in Melbourne.

After a runner-up finish in the 2016 championship match (l. to Kontinen/Peers), the 13-time tour-level title winning team will face Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek or Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev for the trophy. Herbert and Mahut are bidding to become only the third all-French team to triumph at this ATP Masters 1000 event. Nicolas Escude and Fabrice Santoro became the first pairing to achieve the feat in 2002, before Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra's title run in 2006.Herbert and Mahut will also be hoping to carry their strong form in Paris across to the Nitto ATP Finals in London. Last year’s finalists will be making their fifth straight appearance at The O2, which hosts the season finale from 10-17 November.
