Lacko Extends Run Of Form In Eastbourne

Lukas Lacko didn’t experience any letdown on Thursday after recording his biggest career win at the Nature Valley International. The Slovakian defeated British wild card Cameron Norrie in a 6-3, 6-4 victory over 75 minutes for a place in the Eastbourne semi-finals.

Norrie faced break points in each of his first four service games against Lacko, who beat top seed and World No. 11 Diego Schwartzman in the second round at Devonshire Park on Wednesday. Lacko broke for a 2-1 lead in the second set, then recovered from 15/40 - and saved four break points in total - in the next game.

Lacko, who captured his 12th ATP Challenger Tour title in Glasgow (d. Vanni) this year, is through to his second ATP World Tour semi-final — more than six years on from his first at Zagreb in 2012 (l. to Youzhny in the final).

He awaits the winner of fourth-seeded Italian Marco Cecchinato, this year’s Roland Garros semi-finalist, and John Millman of Australia. Cecchinato beat Millman for the Gazprom Hungarian Open crown on 29 April.
