Earlier this month, Luke Bambridge and Jonny O’Mara claimed their first ATP Challenger Tour title as a team at the Surbiton Trophy, defeating brothers Ken Skupski and Neal Skupski in the final. Now, the pair will look to beat the same opponents in their maiden ATP World Tour final.
Bambridge and O’Mara, both competing in their first tour-level event of the season, defeated veterans Robert Lindstedt and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-4, 6-3 to reach the championship match at the Nature Valley International on Thursday.
To put Bambridge and O’Mara’s run in perspective, their opponents in Eastbourne have combined to lift 71 tour-level trophies. Before the week, Bambridge and O’Mara had in total earned one tour-level match win.

They will take confidence into the final knowing that three weeks ago, they earned their first Challenger-level triumph together against Skupski/Skupski. The brothers beat Ryan Harrison and Nicholas Monroe 6-3, 6-3 at Devonshire Park in Eastbourne to reach their second ATP World Tour final of the season.
Skupski and Skupski earned their first tour-level title as a pair earlier this year at the Open Sud de France. Nearly a year ago, they won three four-setters to advance to the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
