Roger Federer has made a positive start to his Qatar ExxonMobil Open quarter-final against Nikoloz Basilashvili on Thursday.
The three-time Doha champion stood on top of the baseline and ripped groundstroke winners to claim the only break of the set, and he maintained his advantage to claim the opener 6-3 after 38 minutes. Federer is competing in just the second match of his ATP Tour comeback, following his 7-6(8), 3-6, 7-5 victory against Daniel Evans on Wednesday.
