Novak Djokovic has levelled his Nitto ATP Finals semi-final clash against Dominic Thiem at 5-7, 7-6(10).
The World No. 1, who was broken at 5-5 in the first set, was forced to save four match points in the second-set tie-break. Djokovic fired a big serve out wide at 5/6, found the line with a forehand winner at 9/10 and capitalised on Thiem errors to improve to 15-1 in tie-breaks this year. Djokovic is aiming to reach his eighth championship match at the Nitto ATP Finals, while Thiem is bidding to become the first player since his semi-final rival in 2016 to reach back-to-back finals at the season finale.
In the round-robin stage at this event last year, Thiem rallied from 1/4 down in a final-set tie-break to beat Djokovic 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-6(5). The winner will face Daniil Medvedev or Rafael Nadal in the championship match. Nadal leads the Russian 3-0 in their ATP Head2Head series.
