A LOOK BACK
Ludwigshafen Challenger (Ludwigshafen, Germany): There's no doubt that Yannick Hanfmann enjoys playing on home soil. The 27-year-old streaked to the title at the inaugural Ludwigshafen Challenger on Sunday, securing his fourth ATP Challenger Tour crown and third in Germany.
The Karlsruhe native, who previously prevailed in Ismaning in 2017 and Braunschweig in 2018, defeated 12th seed Filip Horansky 6-3, 6-1 in Sunday's championship to complete the German trifecta. Hanfmann needed just 57 minutes to dispatch Horansky, converting five of six break chances.
Ludwigshafen, a city known primarily as an industrial centre in western Germany, made its debut in front of packed crowds. Located less than an hour north of Karlsruhe, Hanfmann was the local favourite all week, and nearly 800 spectators packed the BASF-Tennisclub for the final.
“It’s been a fantastic week for me and I rewarded myself with a good match today,” Hanfmann told Tennis-TourTalk.com. “It makes it very special to win in front of my friends and family.”

Guzzini Challenger (Recanati, Italy): Egor Gerasimov has been a force in Challenger finals in recent years. In seven title matches, the Belarusian has lifted six trophies. On Sunday, he once again celebrated a title, defeating Roberto Marcora 6-2, 7-5 on the hard courts of Recanati.
The 26-year-old is projected to return to the Top 150 when the new ATP Rankings are released in one week. Currently sitting at No. 167, the victory came at the perfect time, having dropped five straight matches entering Recanati. Earlier in the year, Gerasimov reached the second round at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships as a qualifier.

A LOOK AHEAD
The four-time award winning event in Braunschweig, Germany, celebrates its 26th edition on the ATP Challenger Tour. Hanfmann returns as defending champion, with 2017 winner Nicola Kuhn also unseeded. #NextGenATP star Casper Ruud leads the field.
Meanwhile, the U.S. summer of tennis kicks off in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka, with the 28th edition of the Nielsen Pro Tennis Championships. Bradley Klahn is the top seed, with reigning champ Evgeny Karlovskiy and Michael Mmoh also in action. Thanasi Kokkinakis kicks off his comeback from a shoulder injury, competing in his first tournament since Barletta in April.
And in Perugia, Italy, one of the oldest clubs on the ATP Challenger Tour hosts the Citta di Perugia Sidernestor Tennis Cup. Founded in 1899, the Tennis Club Perugia has welcomed players and fans for five years, with Pablo Carreno Busta, Laslo Djere and #NextGenATP American Ulises Blanch among the champions.
In Winnipeg, it's the first of three straight weeks in Canada on the tour, with tournaments in Gatineau and Granby to follow. Bernard Tomic, Antoine Hoang and Brayden Schnur lead the field. Go Soeda, champion in 2016, is seeded seventh.
